This. Face.

Oh, this kid.  His ridiculously sweet face makes up for the continuing series of sleepless nights and the nuclear meltdowns at the mere suggestion of getting some shut eye.  Good thing.  🙂

In related news, we have started sleep training.  He had been doing so great on his own – getting up just once a night! – until he got sick.  Since then, he just can’t seem to find his rhythm again.  After nearly 5 months of inadequate sleep, I’ve decided it’s time to focus on getting this kid and I some rest.  So far, so good.  It hasn’t been nearly as painful as I thought it might be and we have successfully managed to move bedtime up to 7:30pm.  Still getting up multiple times throughout the night, but we are seeing gradual improvement!  After his nights are more stable, we’ll take on naps.

I’ll surely write a whole post on this topic once we are on the other side… hopefully that will be soon?  A girl can dream.  Well.  A girl can dream of dreaming.  😉

  1. Hang in there. It’s my belief that sleep training is the hardest thing you’ll have to deal with at this age. I got myself through it with constant reminders that this is a phase which will eventually pass.
